Jackson’s first birthday party was definitely one to remember! Last winter, I started researching, diving into pinterest and reading many other blogs on first birthday parties. I knew that I wanted to go all out for my baby’s first birthday because I wanted to celebrate him and have a fun celebration for us as well as all our friends and family who helped get us through his first year of life! It has been a blast, but it also takes a village and I wanted to be able to have everyone celebrate!
As I was searching for the perfect theme, I kept seeing a lot of themes that were very over done – CUTE, but I had seen them everywhere. So, my goal was to either take a popular theme and make it our own, or find an original theme. That’s when I came across @CiaraChanelSelf’s first birthday theme for her little boy and I fell in love! The B.I.G one or the Notorious B.I.G. one. I mean, I just loved the 90s hip hop theme meshed with the modern twist of a black, white and gold color scheme. I was hooked and could not wait to bring it to life!
As a wedding photographer, I knew that I had to bring in some of the best vendors to help with his first birthday. One of my friends, who is also an amazing graphic designer, Kyle, helped me with the invitations and all things graphics! The invitations, the signs, the drawings of Jackson and Biggie Smalls- she designed it all! One Belle Bakery has created not only masterpieces, but also the most delicious cakes, cookies, and cupcakes for all of our parties since we found out about Jackson, including our gender reveal party, baby shower, and now his first birthday! I don’t know what I would do without Anna’s creative eye and help that brought our dream smash cake, fun cookies and cupcakes to life. Lyndsey’s Fine Paper created the cup favors and the napkins. I am so glad we will have those to remember this fun birthday party forever! Lastly, Hayley, from Oceanic, did an amazing job at not only helping me come up with a few design ideas and arranging some of the planning (including food), but she also helped with setting up and putting together this amazing balloon garland! I seriously could not have done it without her!
Jackson’s first birthday party (although not actually on his birthday, which was April 6th, because of Covid-19) was one that we will for sure cherish. Being able to celebrate with our friends and family and seeing Jackson light up when he finally got to dig into his cake! I loved it all! I hope you enjoy these sweet photos from the party!
